The Chronicles of Xeo Woolfe, Episode Four - Mutant Grin finally published
Entered 2/3/2008 3:00:18 AM
Finally, episode four of The Chronicles of Xeo Woolfe has crept forward from the dense scrub of imagination via the keys of data entry into the light of the monitor screen! It's the longest episode to date (at approx 16500 words by the lights of the word processing software) so it should be a good read if bodily chaosing, mysterious self-obsessed villains with god-complexes and mutant cyberganically enhanced heroes are what you're into. Can Xeo bear the site of Vestral in recyclable synthetic uniforms any longer without actually really talking to her? Will Buddles be of any help at all? How much cheek can the crew dish out to the noxious, control-freak, sociopathic bad guy? Visit The Chronicles of Xeo Woolfe free to read page and find out!
Please report any typos or other offences to decent grammar at the contact page. There should be few, if there are any at all, but the author is the editor!
Synopsis:
The crew's ongoing success begins to earn them accolades from some, and enmity from others. Xeo receives an unusual challenge from across the aether. Gunny experiences life as a head in a vat, and Xeo gets to experience life as a mutant Frankenstein after facing the angriest creature in existance. Almost everyone opts for bodily and neural enhancements - eventually. As usual - monsters get clobbered along the way...

A UNIVERSE OF STORIES...
The Chronicles of Xeo Woolfe - Episode Four - 'Mutant Grin'
Updated: 2/7/2008 4:04:15 PM
Writing the latest episode of 'The Chronicles of Xeo Woolfe' was a pleasure. Although conventional narrative modes are still employed, the rhythm and style of this otherwise very experimental series is, I feel, settling nicely. There's action (as usual,) romance (no - really) and my usual attempts at comedy. You may find complex character voices, which I hope do not interfere with your enjoyment, and the dialogue is extensive and pacy. Those brave and curious enough to take on the 16,500 or so words in eight chapters will find ghostly character voices, and what I hope readers will think is a pretty decent plot with some lovely original elements. There are numerous literary and philosophical themes including, but not limited to, disembodiment, embodiment, voicelessness, the celebration of the low, identity, angst, consciousness, mutants, zombies, anxiety, monstrousness, and much more. Did I mention there was some romance? I worked hard to ensure that there was solid potential for giggles, including attempts at at least three kinds of humour: cheap, dry and unfathomable. Anything else that somehow managed to achieve the a state of humourousness is either a typo - or based on the reader's own internal texts! If you're a fan of the intentional fallacy and 'the death of the author', all I can say is that I feel fine, and that if you find anything amazing in the text - I may have had something to do with it. Anything terrible was an accident. Literature is a big word, and seems to get bigger all the time! The final draft is being edited for banal errors and typographic innanity at this writing.

The Author.
